NEW DELHI: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann met with his party's leader Arvind Kejriwal at his home on Thursday, as the state government faced criticism in the wake of the death of singer-politician Sidhu Moosewala.

Unidentified assassins shot and killed Moosewala on May 29 in Punjab's Mansa district, a day after the state government reduced his security cover.  The attack also injured his cousin and a friend who was riding with him in a jeep.

Mann has already announced the formation of a judicial commission to investigate the incident, which will be led by a sitting high court judge.

On May 28, the Punjab government revoked or limited the protection of 424 persons, including Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, also known as Sidhu Moosewala. Following the incident, opposition parties such as the Congress and the BJP demanded that the state government be dismissed.
