Chandigarh: Congress, which is looking weak in many parts of the country, is quite strong in Punjab. However, Congress is strong here due to the personal influence of CM Amarinder Singh. The captain is the most powerful Congress leader in the state. Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, who called it his last political innings during the last assembly election, has changed his mind. During that election, he declared that this was his last political innings and he would retire from politics after completing his five-year term. But he has said that he has expressed the desire to lengthen his innings and said that he can play the next political innings as well.

This talk of Captain can create panic in Congress. CM Amarinder said in a tweet that if he had to play 2022 innings too, to get rid of the dark days of the ten-year tenure of the Akali-BJP government and bring Punjab back to the number-1 position. The important aspect is that this tweet of the Chief Minister has come when by-elections are going to be held in four assembly seats in Punjab. The anti-Captain faction in the state is accusing them of loosening the government.
