Punjab Congress President Sunil Jakhar appealed to many Congress leaders from Punjab to spread the voice of the common people to the central government through social media. During this, Sunil Jakhar also talked to common people through social media. He announced that the Congress party would march from Gurugram to Darbhanga if the situation was normal, keeping the demands of the common people in front of the central government.

In his statement, Jakhar said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, sitting in the most respected position in the country, has completely forgotten the public. Referring to the plight of migrants he said that the Congress party would march from Gurugram to Darbhanga to show solidarity with the millions of migrant victims. Also, he said that the Congress will continue to help the migrant workers. He said that Jyoti's cycle journey is a shame for the country and the central government cannot acquit itself of the crime of harassing the migrants. Reminding the Prime Minister of Rajdharma, Jakhar demanded that the central government should provide free train or bus service to all migrant workers to reach their homes.

He demanded the central government to immediately deposit Rs 10,000 in the bank account of each poor family as the lockdown had destroyed the economy of every section and the poor suffered the most. He demanded relief to the small traders and shopkeepers by saying that this category needs money and not a package to keep the business running. While commenting on the Rs 20 lakh crore package announced by the central government, Sunil Jakhar asked the Prime Minister what was in the package for the farmers. He said that 60 percent of the country's population was dependent on agriculture but in this package, nothing was there for the farmers. He demanded that the central government should forgive the debt of Rs 3 lakh crore of the farmers of the country.
