Chandigarh: The corona epidemic in Punjab is once again showing its deadly form. In the last 24 hours, 4,343 people have been found to be infected with a corona in the state. While 58 people have lost their lives. Mohali, a district adjoining Tricity Chandigarh, has reported the highest number of 860 new corona cases, while Amritsar has the highest number of 10 deaths.

The state has so far claimed 7,750 lives, while the total number of patients has increased to 2,85,570. On the other hand, Chief Secretary Punjab Vini Mahajan directed the state medical education and research department that the results of the corona test should reach the concerned people within 24 hours. He urged qualified people to come forward for corona vaccination to prevent the rapid spread of covid-19.

Reviewing the corona situation in the state along with administrative secretaries, deputy commissioners, CP, and SSP, the Chief Secretary has asked the departments to provide corona kits as well as food kits to patients under domestic solitary confinement. Ordering that the target of the covid test be ensured up to 50,000 per day, Mahajan said all contacts should be tested immediately. He said that the services of staff of any department can be availed for deputy commissioner covid-19 management at the district level.
