Punjab Police Continues Crackdown: Second Consecutive Encounter with Bambiha Gang

Chandigarh: The Punjab Police is intensifying its crackdown on gangsters, with another encounter occurring for the second consecutive day. In Moga, a shootout transpired between the police and the Bambiha gang, resulting in the apprehension of three individuals. The clash involved multiple rounds of gunfire between the police's CIA team and the Bambiha gang members near Badni Kalan area. One criminal and a CIA employee sustained injuries during the confrontation. The captured criminals are identified as Shankar Rajput of Moga, along with Jashwa and Navdeep Singh of Dharamkot, all affiliated with the Bambiha gang led by Lucky Patial and Mandeep Dhaliwal, as confirmed by DSP Moga Harinder Singh Dodh.

The encounter unfolded when the CIA team established a checkpoint near Badni Kalan for routine inspections. The three miscreants, riding on a bike from Dodhar, attempted to evade the checkpoint and, upon being pursued by the CIA team, resorted to firing from a field. In the exchange of gunfire, the CIA team successfully apprehended all three suspects.

The previous day, on Saturday, a similar incident occurred in Mohali district where an encounter took place between Mohali Police and miscreants on Landran Road near Sanetta village. Two individuals, identified as Karmjeet Singh and Paramjeet Singh Prince from Rajpura, were injured and apprehended during the incident. Additionally, on the same Saturday night, an encounter in Patiala resulted in the arrest of Malkit Chitta, wanted in six murder cases, by the CIA Patiala. Chitta sustained a gunshot wound to the leg during his arrest.
