Amritsar: Noted poet and founder member of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Dr Kumar Vishwas has been booked by the Punjab Police under several sections for allegedly spreading enmity. Based on a complaint by an AAP worker, the Punjab Police has registered a case against Kumar Vishwas on charges of spreading disharmony by giving a wrong interview. They have been booked under Section 125 of the Representation of the People Act.

Along with this, section 153 has also been imposed against Kumar Vishwas, which is imposed on charges of a speech made with the intention of inciting riots. Not only this but they have also been booked under sections 153-A, 505, 502, 116, 143, 147, 323 and 341. A case has been registered against Kumar Vishwas at Rupnagar police station in Punjab. Ahead of the Punjab assembly elections, Kumar Vishwas had alleged that Arvind Kejriwal had told him that he wanted to become the Chief Minister of Punjab and if that does not happen then Azad will become the Prime Minister of Khalistan. In the same case, the Punjab Police has given a notice at Kumar's house to join the investigation. He said that if Kumar Vishwas does not join the investigation, then he will be arrested by the police.  

Now, the controversy over allegations of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's relationship with Khalistani fundamentalists had intensified and the Congress had also targeted the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) over it. Following Kumar Vishwas's comment, the central government had provided y security to him.
