Amritsar: Robbers attacked a mother and son with an ax in Punjab's Bathinda district, in this attack the mother died on the spot, while the son's condition remains critical and he is hospitalized. The robbers barged into the house late on Saturday (December 10) and carried out the attack. The incident took place in Kheti Singh Basti. The information about the murder was received on Sunday morning. People immediately took the injured youth Vikas along with woman Madhurani to the hospital. The doctors declared the woman dead. The condition of the youth also remains critical.

On the information of the incident, the police station reached the spot and started collecting evidence from the spot including questioning the people around. Due to the critical condition of the injured, the police could not record his statement. According to the preliminary investigation, the case seems to be of robbery. Let us tell you that after the attack on the police station of Tarn Taran with a rocket launcher, SSP Bathinda J. Alenchejian sounded an alert in the district. 

He has ordered all police station SHOs to be vigilant. But, this incident has put a question mark on the claims of the district police.
