CHANDIGARH: The Badal clan's power in Punjab's Lambi Assembly constituency, which had previously been regarded their bastion, appears to be slipping away this time.

Parkash Singh Badal, the former Chief Minister and the oldest candidate in the upcoming elections, is currently lagging by about 10,000 votes in his main seat. Gurmeet Singh Khudian of the Aam Aadmi Party has received 42,015 votes thus far, while Badal has received 32,382 votes.

According to the Election Commission, eight rounds of counting had been completed as of 12.45 p.m., with five more rounds remaining that might determine the fate of one of the candidates.

Badal's son and Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal, who is currently losing by roughly 11,000 votes in Jalalabad, is in a similar scenario. AAP's Jagdeep Kamboj is in the lead, with 37,195 votes after eight rounds of counting.
