Amritsar: A unique case of Hindu-Muslim brotherhood has come to light from Rampur Gujra village under Sangrur district of Punjab. There are about 11 Muslim families living in this village. Those who had to go to the mosque of Didba, 3 km away from here, to pray. Due to this, they had a lot of problems. They wanted that if a mosque is built in the village, they will not have to go far. So they demanded land from the panchayat, which could not be fulfilled. After which the Muslim families gave money and demanded their 3 bigha land from Harmesh Singh and Balbir Singh, who are from the Hindu community of the village.
On this, Harmesh Singh and Balbir Singh, showing a big heart, not only agreed to give the land. But they didn't even take the money. Both Hindus donated their land for the mosque. Harmesh Singh, who donated the land, said that they had to go 4-5 km to offer namaz. These people came to give the money and give us land, we said that no money is needed to build a mosque, we will give land for free. Hanif Khan, a member of the Muslim family, said that the problem was we had to go to pray for 4-5 km, now we will offer namaz here only.
Two Hindu families solved the problem of Muslim families in the village by donating land for the mosque. Now the construction work of the mosque has started on that land. The result of this generosity of Hindu families was that the panchayat from which land for the mosque could not be found. They also now agreed to give them 10 biswa of land to build a Dharamshala. Maulvi Qazi Mohammad of the area said that it is a matter of great happiness, all the Muslims of the area are very happy with this.
Balwinder Singh, head of Rampur Gujra village, said that Hindus have done good work, Balbir Singh, Raghubir Singh, and Harmesh Singh, have donated their private land for the mosque. The example is set by both the Hindu families of the village. As a result, the panchayat got land for Dharamshala, and then someone from the village is now helping by giving bricks and some cement to build the mosque.
