Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has given a big statement regarding the air crash of Air India Express in Kozhikode, Kerala. He fought with Congress MP Ravneet Singh Bittu on social media regarding this matter. The Union Minister questioned the Congress MP's tweet about the accident and said that the runway of Karipur Airport was completely safe and all security-related measures were taken as per International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards.
Puri tweeted, "Some members of the Congress Party are tweeting without any evidence." In another tweet, he said, "MP Ravneet Bittu does not know the difference between narrow-body aircraft and wide-body aircraft, yet he tweeted on this matter like any other expert. He did better delete his tweet".
Narrow-body aircraft reduces the width of the meeting cabin of the passengers, and it has 3 to 6 seats in a row. In which there is only one corridor between them. Whereas wide-body aircraft have up to 10 seats in a row and have two corridors between them. The Congress MP from Ludhiana Ravneet Singh Bittu tweeted on August 8, alleging, "Multiple warnings and a ban on the landing of a wide-body aircraft at Kozhikode Airport in 2015 was imposed which was removed by Hardeep Singh Puri in July 2019, as a result of which such terrible tragedy happened and people died."
