New Delhi: Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and Congress MP Ravneet Singh Bittu clashed on social media over the Air India Express plane incident in Kozhikode, Kerala. The Union Minister has raised questions on the Congress MP's tweet regarding the incident, saying that the runway of Karipur Airport was completely safe and according to ICAO sources, all security related measures have been adopted there.

Question is being raised without facts: Puri tweeted, 'Some members of Congress party have tweeted without knowing the facts.' He said in the next tweet that 'MP Ravneet Bittu is not aware of the difference between narrow-body aircraft and wide body aircraft, even after which he tweeted like an expert on this issue! He did well by deleting his tweet.

This aircraft was a narrow-body aircraft: The passenger cabin in a narrow-body aircraft is very small and has 3 to 6 seats in a row and there is only one corridor between them. Whereas wide body aircraft have 10 seats in a row and have two corridors between them. Air India Express was a Boeing 737 narrow-body aircraft in Kerala.

Bittu leveled this accusation Congress MP from Ludhiana, Ravneet Singh Bittu, on 8 August tweeted, 'Hardeep Singh Puri, despite repeated warnings and stopping the landing of wide body aircraft at Kozhikode Airport in 2015, July 2019 The ban has been lifted, as a result of which such a dangerous accident happened and people died.
