Qualcomm has introduced a new chipset 215 Mobile Platform for smartphones below Rs 5,000. The chipset is now expected to feature powerful features with expensive and premium devices at entry level and cheaper smartphones. Earlier, Qualcomm had introduced 205 mobile platforms for cheaper feature phones.
For many years, the company has not released a new update on the 200 Series chipset. Qualcomm, on the other hand, has periodically rolled out several updates for its Snapdragon 600 and Snapdragon 700 series. Let us know all the features of this processor in detail

There is a lot of talk about Qualcomm's new chipset in the market. The chipset is expected to see tremendous changes in the entry-level smartphone segment. The company claims that the new chipset will offer better performance in cheaper smartphones, dual camera support for photo-features, 19:9 aspect ratio display, quick charge as well as NFC payment support.

Qualcomm 215 mobile platform supports 13 megapixels single and 8-megapixel dual camera setups. The camera allows users to shoot videos of 1080 pixels resolution. Not only that, the 19.5:9 Aspect ratio comes with an HD+ (1560x720) display.
Qualcomm says the new chipset is designed in such a way that it will deliver 50 per cent better CPU performance than the previous generation's 200-series chipset. The Qualcomm 215 mobile platform is the first chipset of the 200 series that comes with 64-bit support.
The need for 64-bit support will be more for entry-level smartphones in the coming time as Google has started removing older 32-bit support apps. In terms of connectivity, the chipset comes with Qualcomm's only X5 modem that supports LTE Cat 4. What's more, it increases the device's download speed to 150Mbps.

Qualcomm's chipset-equipped smartphones are expected to hit the market by the end of this year. While some users may find the chipset a little weaker than Qualcomm's Snapdragon 600 Series processor, it's a great upgrade if the Qualcomm 200 series is up to the mark.
Qualcomm is targeting to make it available in entry-level and budget smartphones. This is the same segment in which budget smartphones like the Redmi 7 come with more powerful Snapdragon 600 Series processors than this chipset. It is believed that 215 mobile platforms may have to work hard to make their way into the market.
