Pakistani Singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has been awarded the Doctorate of Music degree by Oxford University for his outstanding contribution to Bollywood and Hollywood music. Rahat has given its voice to more than 50 TV serials and more than 100 films, and his praiseful mention says he was born into a family that has been working to advance the South Asian music tradition.

At the age of 7, Rahat started training and so far more than 50 music albums have been released and have performed at several high-profile concerts around the world. They have a global following in today's time. His songs have already had a billion views online so far.

"It is really a great achievement to be entitled to this honour and I am happy that I have been so successful because of the music. According to media reports received, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan will also perform at Oxford Townhall and earlier a music hall was named after him by Oxford University in honour of Rahat. In addition to him, 8 people were also honoured by Oxford University.
