New Delhi: In his first interview after having ' President crown', Congress uncontested President Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday asserted that he 'does not need' the Bharatiya Janata Party's consent to visit temples in Gujarat.

A day before the concluding phase of Gujarat Assembly Polls 2017, Gandhi asserted GS TV that he has done his work on teachings of the Bhagavad Gita. That is why he does not care about the results and continues to work without thinking about the returns.

Showering annoyance on Narendra Modi-led government, the newly crowned Congress president said, "Our government will speak less, work more".

Conversely, the interview was afterward restricted by the Gujarat Election Commission after the saffron BJP lodged three complaints against it.

Rahul again lauded that the Congress was not in favour of Gabbar Singh Tax (GST).

"No economist will ever say that note-ban was logical,” Rahul Gandhi quoted.

Rahul Gandhi said that the BJP is distracted attention from the real issues and the voters of Gujarat know it.

"The BJP will be shocked to see election results of Gujarat. I feel that Congress will win the polls in Gujarat,"Rahul insisted.

The second phase of the Gujarat Assembly Elections 2017 will take place on Thursday December 14, 2017.
