Kurnool: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi restarted the ongoing Bharat Jodo Yatra from the Banavasi village of Kurnool district in Andhra Pradesh on Thursday morning.

Gandhi's yatra will end at Mugati village after beginning this morning at Banavasi area.

Rahul Gandhi is receiving a warm welcome from the locals, and local politicians are taking part in the yatra. Rahul Gandhi and other party leaders will move to Mugati, Halaharvi, and Kalludevakunta in the Kurnool district on the 43rd day of the Yatra.

Rahul Gandhi will offer prayers at Sri Raghavendra Swamy Math later in the evening. He will next have a brief meeting with Sri Subudhendra Tirtha ji in Mantralayan, which is located in the Kurnool area.

The yatra will make an overnight stay at Chetnihalli. The Congress prayed at the Sri Ganga Temple in Adoni earlier on Wednesday. The Congress declared during a news conference that Amaravati should serve as the sole capital of Andhra Pradesh.

"In terms of the bifurcation, the most important thing from my perspective and from the standpoint of the Congress is that, at the time of the split, the Indian union made a number of obligations to the people of Andhra Pradesh. We consider that these essential pledges, as well as the ones made by the people of Andhra Pradesh, should be honoured. That is our most important finding that special status pledges that were made need to be kept. Amaravati, in our opinion, should serve as Andhra Pradesh's capital " he said.

On October 18, the Yatra arrived in Andhra Pradesh.

The Bharat Jodo Yatra, which will begin on September 7, 2022, will travel through up to 12 states. The Yatra began in Kanyakumari and would finish in Kashmir the following year, travelling a distance of 25 kilometres each day.
A historic occasion for the Congress and the entire nation, the 3500 km yatra. According to a statement from the Congress earlier, it is the longest foot march by a politician in Indian history. Notably, Mahatma Gandhi made the longest foot march (389 kilometres in 24 days) from Gujarat's Sabarmati Ashram to Dandi (Navasari).

The Bharat Jodo Yatra, which was founded by Congressman Rahul Gandhi, will arrive in Maharashtra in the first week of November. Numerous political parties and social organisations around the nation are supporting the Bharat Jodo Yatra, and support is growing daily. The NCP and Shiv Sena (Thackeray group) have also committed to take part in the yatra in Maharashtra, which increases its significance.

Notably, Rahul Gandhi and all of the party's MPs, leaders, and workers are residing in shipping containers. Some of the containers even have AC units, toilets, and sleeping mattresses. The arrangements were made with the new location's extreme heat and humidity in mind.

The assembly elections for this year's elections were a disaster for the Congress, and the Yatra is considered as an effort to galvanise the party's base for the forthcoming elections.
