New Delhi: In the monsoon session of Parliament, the opposition on Monday questioned the central government whether the government was aware that many workers died on the way while returning to the houses and whether state-wise figures of the deceased exist? In response, the centre said there is no data on the death toll. On Tuesday, the former Congress president slammed the central government in a poetic way.

In a tweet, Rahul said, "Modi Sarkaar Nahin Jaanti Ki Lockdown Me Kitne Pravasi Mazdoor Mare Aur Kitni Naukriyan Gayi. Tumne Nahi Gina To Kya Jaane Nhi Gayi? Haan Magar Dukh Hai Sarkaar Pe Asar Na Hua Unka Marna Dekha Zamane Ne, Ek Modi Sarkaar Hai Jise Khabar Na Hui" (The Modi government does not know how many migrant labourers died and how many jobs were lost in the lockdown. If you did not count, this means no one died? Sadly, the government was not affected, everyone saw them died, only Modi government did not know). Migrant workers faced a lot of problems when the country was in the lockdown after the coronavirus pandemic began. Millions of migrant workers were on the streets, while many were reported to have died.

The monsoon session of Parliament has begun from Monday amid the corona crisis, the first day of the session, the central government faced sharp questions from the opposition. The opposition raised several questions with the Modi government over the lockdown and coronavirus. One of the questions from the centre was the death of migrant labourers during the lockdown, in response to which the centre said that they did not have any data related to it.
