New Delhi: Amid growing rage from the opposition for the new bills related to agriculture, passed in the Upper House, the central government has decided to increase the minimum support price (MSP) of agricultural produce. It has been approved by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs. The new MSP of six rabi crops has been declared. This decision has been taken at a time when farmers' organizations are expressing opposition to the new agricultural bills.

The opposition and farmer organizations say that the new agriculture bills will affect the existing minimum support price (MSP). Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi, former National President of Congress and MP from Wayanad Lok Sabha seat in Kerala, has targeted the Modi government for the minimum support price. Rahul Gandhi said that in 2014, Modi had promised the farmers to give the Swaminathan Commission MSP in the elections. But in 2015, the Modi government said in court that they would not be able to do so.

Rahul Gandhi taunts Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In his official tweet, he said that 'Modi Ji's intention is clean, new anti-agriculture effort, clean the farmers from roots, good development of capitalist' friends".
