New Delhi: For the first time in the country, four people have been diagnosed with the SARS-COV-2 virus from the South African strain. At the same time, there has been a report of a person getting infected with the Brazilian strain. Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has attacked the Center for the arrival of new strains of corona from South Africa and Brazil to India.

Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi shared the news on his Twitter handle saying that "corona is not over yet. The government is a victim of gross negligence and overconfidence." ICMR Director General Balram Bhargava said that all the passengers returned from outside India and the people in contact with them are being examined and kept in quarantine. 'ICMR-NIV' is trying to separate the South African form from the samples of these four infected people and gather other information.

A person returning from Brazil in the first week of February has been confirmed to have been infected with the Brazilian strain. Bhargava, referring to both forms of the virus, said that the South African form was first discovered in mid-December. This form of the virus has spread over 44 countries. The Brazilian strain of the virus was detected in January and it has spread to 15 countries so far.
