RAIPUR: Rahul Gandhi, the prominent leader of the All India Congress Committee and a Member of Parliament, is scheduled to address 4.8 million young voters of Chhattisgarh in the city of Raipur on September 2nd. He is planning a one-day visit to Raipur.
This event marks Rahul's first extensive interaction with the youth in the capital city of Raipur since the Congress Government took office in the state. During this mass engagement, Rahul will directly communicate with the young population of Chhattisgarh, discussing their concerns and issues. Additionally, he will address the initiatives and accomplishments of the Bhupesh Baghel government in the fields of youth development and employment, as stated by Satya Prakash Singh, a spokesperson for the Congress.
The Congress party asserts that under the leadership of Bhupesh Baghel, the state has achieved the lowest unemployment rate in the nation. In contrast to the national unemployment rate of +8%, Chhattisgarh's rate stands at a mere 0.5%. Furthermore, the Congress claims that they have provided jobs to 500,000 young men and women, along with government positions for 100,000 youths, according to Sushil Anand Shukla, the Chief of the Congress Communication Department. Looking ahead, the government aims to launch the CG Rojgar Mission, with the goal of offering employment opportunities to 1.5 million youths over the next five years, Shukla added. This year alone, approximately 650,000 new young voters will exercise their right to vote, and Rahul Gandhi's interaction with them is anticipated to serve as a source of motivation.
Rahul stands out as the sole leader in the country who effectively raises youth-related issues on both national and international platforms. This in itself is a source of motivation, Shukla emphasized. Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has welcomed Rahul's upcoming visit to Chhattisgarh, but they have also cautioned that they will bring up the challenges created by the Congress government before the state's youth. Kedar Gupta, a senior spokesperson for the BJP, alleged that corruption became the central focus of the Baghel government from the moment it assumed power.
As a result, the public, including the youth, is bearing the heavy consequences in terms of shattered prospects. Gupta pointed out various scandals, such as the PSC scam, Vyapam Scam, police recruitment scam, and teacher recruitment scam, which have plagued the government. For the sake of the youth's future, the BJP has decided to query Rahul Gandhi. Gupta raised questions about the potential connection between the online illegal betting Mahadev app and key individuals within the Baghel government. He also questioned why the Congress government is obstructing the investigation by the central probing agency ED into matters such as the liquor scam and coal transportation levy scam, if they are truly unrelated to the ruling government.
