NAGPUR: Congress president Rahul Gandhi is all set to preside over the party's working committee meeting at the Sevagram ashram of Mahatma Gandhi in Maharashtra's Wardha district on Tuesday.Reports suggested that the Congress chief will lead a foot march on the occasion of the Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary.

The grand old party Congress  has been continually accusing PM Narendra Modi led  NDA government of practicing the politics of "hate and divisiveness".

Rahul Gandhi has been leading the party's rant on the most controversial Rafale deal.He will be present at a prayer meeting at Bapu Kutir in the ashram Tuesday morning before heading the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting.

He will take part in a foot-march in Wardha in the afternoon, a party .The Congress president will also address a public meeting on Tuesday evening.

Congress' chief spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala while addressing a press Meet at Sevagram near Wardha,said that Rahul Gandhi will lead the 'padyatra' after garlanding the statue of Mahatma Gandhi near the Collector's Office in Wardha.

Calling the foot march padyatra, He said that party will conclude a day in a 'Sankalp Rally' at the Circus ground. Congress scion is expected to spell out the party's future plan and pledge to encourage Gandhian principles and ideology.

Surjewala described Tuesday's CWC meeting "historic" saying that the Congress Working Committee had in 1942 met in Sevagram under the leadership of Father of the nation to take up the 'Quit India' resolution and a meeting was again conducted there in March 1948.

 

 

He also claimed that the current situation in the country is of "loot, jhoot (lies), 'bat ware' (division) and 'bhay' (terror)", from which the nation demands independence.
