New Delhi: The Congress will take out a padayatra on the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The yatra will be taken out by the party's Delhi unit. The journey will start from the Congress office at 9:30 am to Rajghat. Many senior leaders including Congress President Sonia Gandhi will be involved in this padayatra. Delhi Congress spokesperson Jitendra Kochhar said that Sonia Gandhi will administer the oath to the workers joining the padayatra to follow the path prescribed by Bapu.

A senior Congress leader has expressed the possibility of former President Rahul Gandhi joining a padayatra to be taken out of the Gandhi Ashram in Sabarmati on October 2. On the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Congress is taking out foot march across the country. Earlier, Congress President Sonia Gandhi was supposed to lead the Delhi padayatra, but now Rahul Gandhi will take over the command. Thousands of activists, from Congress headquarters to Rajghat, will join the march wearing white robes and Gandhi caps.
