New Delhi [India], July 25 (NT): The grand old Congress Party President Rahul Gandhi asserted that he would support any candidate who will crush the saffron Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

Rahul's remark came in reply to a question raised by a woman journalist on whether he would support All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) Chief Mamata Banerjee or Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) President Mayawati as the face of Prime Minister in the next LS elections, according to the reports.

In connection to the Congress' line of attack in the 2019 LS Elections, Congress scion Rahul said the prime agenda would be to stick down their win in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, which mutually form 22 per cent share of seats in Lok Sabha.

N this context Rahul said the Congress was ready to form coalitions in the two states to beat the BJP.

He also asserted that the BJP's supporters such as Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Shiv Sena were already annoyed with the party, which would be an extra benefit to the Congress.

However,  Rahul Gandhi reportedly said his chances of becoming the next Prime Minister would be area under discussion.
