New Delhi: Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi today greeted former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on his birthday. He said, "He has a very good understanding of the issues facing the country and a lot can be learnt from him. Let me tell you all that Manmohan Singh, a Rajya Sabha member and one of the top Congress leaders, turned 89 today. The Congress tweeted on its official Twitter handle, "A visionary. A dedicated patriot. Sure of your words. Dr. MANMOHAN SINGH: You are a leader who India really deserves.''

In another tweet, the party wrote, "Happy birthday to Dr. Manmohan Singh. The Congress Party and the entire country are proud of your contribution. Thank you for what you did.'' At the same time, the Congress has also said, "From the post of Finance Minister to the Prime Minister, even today, Singh's unwavering commitment to India's progress has brought unimaginable benefits to every Indian.'' Rahul Gandhi posted a post on Facebook and wrote, "Dr. Happy Birthday to Manmohan Singhji. He is fearless and talented and has a very good understanding of the issues facing our country. A lot can be learnt from them. I wish him (Singh) good health and well-being.''
