Rahul Gandhi has touched down in Brussels as part of his week-long European tour. The Congress leader's European sojourn will include engagements with the Indian Diaspora and meetings with European Union (EU) lawyers representing various European nations, as per the Congress party's itinerary.
This comprehensive program is being managed by the 'Indian Overseas Congress.' Accompanying Rahul Gandhi on this European venture is telecom entrepreneur Sam Pitroda, who will actively participate in various events alongside Gandhi across different European countries.
In addition to interacting with the Indian community and EU lawyers, Rahul Gandhi is slated to meet with business leaders and engage with the media during his stay in Brussels. Subsequently, he will continue his European tour with a visit to Paris, where he will hold discussions with French lawmakers. His final stop before returning to India will be Norway, where he is expected to meet with members of the Norwegian parliament in Oslo.
Earlier today, Rahul Gandhi marked the one-year anniversary of his Bharat Jodo Yatra by sharing a video of the event on X. He emphasized the Yatra's role in fostering unity and love in India, calling it the foundation for a brighter future for the country. Gandhi also expressed his commitment to continue this journey until hatred is eradicated and India unites.
This marks Rahul Gandhi's first foreign trip since his reinstatement as a Congress MP by the Lok Sabha, following the Supreme Court's decision to stay his conviction in the defamation case related to the Modi surname remark. Earlier this year, the Wayanad MP visited the United States, engaging with the Indian community, delivering lectures at Stanford University, and participating in various meetings. In March, he also visited the UK and participated in several programs.
Rahul Gandhi is expected to return by September 12, just after the conclusion of the G20 Summit on September 9 and 10, which is set to take place in the national capital. The G20 Summit will see the participation of leaders from the US, UK, Australia, China, and other nations, alongside top officials from the European Union and representatives from 14 international organizations in this grand event.
