A tweet by the Kerala Congress over 'The Kashmir Files,' a film on the displacement of Kashmiri Pandits, has created a flutter. In response to the Kerala Congress' 'fact-check' tweet on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits, The Kashmir Files Director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri has shared a letter from former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. You can see that he shared Indira's letter and wrote in the caption, "Dear Rahul Gandhi Ji, your grandmother's opinion was different.'' Let us tell you all that the film The Kashmir Files, released on March 11, claims to show the plight of Kashmiri Pandits during the exodus in the late 1980s. However, the Kerala unit of Congress alleged that the number of Muslims killed in the Union Territory now is more than that of Kashmiri Pandits who have been victims of the terror attack. Vivek Agnihotri, on the other hand, shared Indira Gandhi's letter on Twitter which he sent to Dr Nirmala Mitra, who lives in the US.

You can see that this letter was written in December 1981. In this letter, Indira Gandhi wrote, "I understand your concern. I am also sad that neither you who was born in Kashmir nor I, whose ancestors come from Kashmir, both of them cannot buy even a small piece of land in Kashmir. But at the moment, the matter is not in my hands. I can't do the things that are needed to fix this issue right now, because both the Indian press and the foreign press are showing my image as a domineering authoritarian.'' At the same time, she further said, "Kashmiri Pandits and Buddhists are being treated very unfairly and discriminated against in Ladakh."

Let us tell you all that before Vivek Agnihotri shared this letter, the Kerala unit of Congress had tweeted disagreeing with the film. In fact, now the Kerala Congress tweeted, "Facts about Kashmiri Pandits: It was the terrorists who targeted the Pandits. In the last 17 years (1990-2007), 399 Pandits have been killed in terror attacks. The number of Muslims killed by terrorists in the same period is 15,000.''
