Railway passengers got a big shock, train tickets cancelled

PM Modi has indicated to implement lockdown 4. The media has come to know that the railway has cancelled all the tickets already booked for the journey of 30 June and earlier. Railways will refund the money for all tickets booked till 30 June. But the Railways have also informed that during this time all special trains and Shramik Express trains will continue to run normally.

The Railways has said that from May 13, IRCTC has started taking the address of the destination station of all the passengers who have booked their tickets online. Railways have said that this will help us in locating them later when needed.

Apart from this, the Railways has said that during this period, the labour special trains starting from May 1 and the special trains running from May 12 will continue to operate. The tickets that are to be cancelled were booked during the lockdown period when the railway was allowing ticket booking for the journey in June. Earlier, the railways banned all bookings for regular trains till May 17. As long as Lockdown 3 remains in force in the country. Though later the government first ran Shramik Special trains for the return of the labourers home, immediately after that the railway has also run 15 pairs of special passenger trains for the people from 14 May.
