Since the Corona virus and lock down, regular trains are not operating in the country. On 23 March, after the lockdown, the operation of trains was stopped. But after this, operations started again. But the Indian Railways took a decision again and canceled all the tickets till 12 August and the operation of the trains was postponed again. But right now it is getting news that Railways are planning to resume their operations in a new way. The plan is that the halts (middle stations) that come between the first stops of trains to the last stops will be reduced. So that the efficiency of the railway can increase. This will mean that the train will be able to reach its place on time and there will not be too much crowd.

Earlier this week, Railway Board Chairman VK Yadav said that due to the corona virus epidemic there has been a delay in implementation of the decision, but it will be implemented. According to the information received, in some cases stoppages of express and mail trains will be decided later. Before this, the officials will assess how many passengers climb and descend from the stations which are planned to be removed from the halt. An official said, "It will be easy to stop some trains running once or twice a week. In the past, many halts have been approved after political deliberations.

Sources have revealed that the Railway Board chief had said that 151 trains run by private companies will also be part of zero-based timetable trains. Meanwhile, some railway officials told that the Railway Ministry will have to take care while setting the timetable for private operators. An official said, "It should not be like Air India that we private companies have been allowed to run trains at their most preferred time".
