New Delhi: Indian Railways has now made a special offer to those travelling by train. Now, a scheme is being launched in India under which any state or person could hire trains and these trains have been named 'Bharat Gaurav Train'. Some prescribed conditions have to be fulfilled for taking the trains and railways will charge them minimum fare instead.

India currently plans to run 180 Bharat Gaurav trains and will have more than 3,000 coaches. Railways have also started the process of taking applications for the same from today and they are also getting a very good response. According to railways, Bharat Gaurav trains can be operated from both private sector and IRCTC. It will also be fareed by the tour operator. These trains will be based on the theme showcasing India's culture, heritage, about 180 trains have been scheduled for this purpose. Passenger, after freight, Railways is going to start the third segment of trains for tourism.

Announcing the scheme, the same Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that stakeholders will make and run these trains modern while railways will provide maintenance, parking and other facilities of these trains. He said that it will not be like regular train service nor is it a common train service. The main goal of Bharat Gaurav Trains is to promote tourism in India.
