Shimla: Due to a landslide on NH-5 near Sandhu in Shimla district, vehicular movement has been halted. The landslide is claimed to have occurred near Sandhu at Khachi Bend. Traffic from Shimla to Rampur and Rikangpio has been diverted to the Mashobara-Sunni route, according to sources.

Shimla DSP Traffic  Ajay Bhardwaj said that NH-5 has been completely destroyed by a landslide, forcing it to close. People travelling from Shimla to Rampur and Rikangpio should use the Mashobara Sunni road. Staff have also been dispatched to aid in the restoration of NH-5. The roadway will be repaired as soon as possible.

These are alternative routes:-
-Alternative route via Sariwan-Halai Sandhu for more incoming vehicles of Shimla.
-Via Sandhu Jadeog Devimod via Chikhar for vehicles to move towards Narkanda.
-Shimla Dhali to Rampur Rikangpio via Basantpur Kingal.
