June 2, 2016:Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot yesterday demanded transform in the work timings under MGNREGA and assumed that the state government's negligence was taking a toll on the laborers.

He alleged that five laborers expired because of heatstroke in Ajmer,Jhalawar,Banswara,Jalore,and Nagaur and amid MGNREGA work in the current days but the government has not changed the timings.

Gehlot said, “ the timings were changed in summers during his rule but the BJP government had "nothing to do" with the labourers and was "neglecting" the matter.”

In a statement Gehlot said, “The time for MGNREGA workers during the Congress-rule was from 7 am to 11 am. Besides, the government should also make proper arrangements for sheds, drinking water, medicines and other necessary things”.
