Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra were in the news for the last few days due to the money laundering case. Due to this case, they were sent a notice, in which they were given 10 days to vacate their house in Juhu, Mumbai and farmhouse in Pune. However, now they have got relief from the Bombay High Court in this case.

Relief from Bombay High Court

On Thursday, the ED (Enforcement Directorate) informed the Bombay High Court that it will not take any action on the eviction notice served against Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra. The High Court bench, which comprised judges Revati Mohite Dere and PK Chavan, allowed Shilpa and Raj to submit their appeal. It also said that no action will be taken on the eviction notice until the appellate authority takes a decision on their appeal.

This stay order of the court will remain in force until the Delhi-based appellate authority takes a decision on the order of the PMLA tribunal from September 18. Apart from this, if the appellate authority gives any adverse decision against the couple, then no action will be taken on that decision for 2 weeks.

Provisions of PMLA

During the hearing, Shilpa and Raj's lawyer Prashant Patil told that under the provisions of PMLA (Prevention of Money Laundering Act), if the PAO (Provisional Attachment Order) is confirmed by the adjudicating authority, the affected person has 45 days to challenge this decision. After this information, the court ended the case. Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra have got relief in this money laundering case for the time being and now there will be no hasty action on their eviction. Both will have to wait for the decision of the appellate authority and the court order has proved to be a big relief for them.
