Jaipur: Sant Baba Vijay Das set himself on fire after protesting for 551 days in Pasopa village, who was saddened by illegal mining in Bharatpur in Rajasthan and the indifferent attitude of the Congress government in the state. After setting fire, Baba started running, saying Radhe-Radhe. By the time the policemen could put out the fire by putting blankets, the saints had suffered 80 per cent burns. The police administration has admitted Baba to the Raj Bahadur Memorial Hospital in Bharatpur, where his condition remains critical. After Baba set fire, The Congress government's mining minister Pramod Jain Bhaya was on the backfoot. He said the mines that the saints are demanding to be closed down are legal. Even after that, their lease shift will be considered.

It should be noted that Baba Narayan Das climbed the tower on Tuesday morning in protest against illegal mining and remained on the tower for the whole night. Glucose and other food items were delivered to Baba Narayan Das at the tower itself. At the same time, the police team was also stationed on the spot throughout the night. After this, a large number of saints and saints gathered at the movement site in Pasopa on Wednesday morning. Meanwhile, at around 11.30 am, a saint Vijay Das (65) went behind the dharna site and set himself on fire by spraying inflammable material. Mines Minister Pramod Jain Bhaya said that 55-60 leases have been given around the hill after the saint tried to commit self-immolation. All of them are mining legally. They also have environmental clearance. The saints want to stop mining there and declare that area a forest area. Bhaya further said that a meeting was also held under the leadership of the Chief Minister in this matter. Also, it was discussed that they are doing mining according to the rules, Royalty is also paid. Will consider cancelling the lease of those mines and giving lease at another place.

Let us know that the area of Deeg, Kaman tehsil of Bharatpur district of Rajasthan falls in the 84 kos parikrama route. The saints say that it is a place related to religious belief, and people of the Hindu religion perform parikrama here, so both legal and illegal mining should be stopped here. They had been agitating for 551 days with this demand.
