NEW DELHI: Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has leveled serious allegations against Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of insulting Hindus during his recent speech in the Lok Sabha.
Sharma criticized Gandhi, claiming that his remarks were aimed at denigrating Hindus for political gain and to appease a particular community. Speaking at a press conference held at the BJP office, Sharma stated, "Rahul Gandhi, while addressing the Parliament, labeled Hindus as violent and hatemongers. His statements not only lacked truth but also cast unfounded aspersions on Hindus. Gandhi's debut speech as Leader of Opposition was marked by disappointment and baseless accusations."
Gandhi's fiery critique of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during Monday's Lok Sabha session sparked considerable uproar among the ruling benches. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also criticized Gandhi's comments, accusing the Congress of perpetuating division through appeasement policies.
The accusations from Sharma highlight growing political tensions and debates over religious sensitivity within parliamentary proceedings, underscoring the challenges of maintaining harmony and respect for diverse beliefs in India's political landscape.
