Jaipur: Ashok Gehlot government of Rajasthan has introduced an amendment bill in the assembly against the Central Agriculture Act. The amendment bill brought against these three laws will be debated on Monday. While the opposition created a ruckus with the introduction of the bill in the House, the government has made it clear that the Rajasthan government is doing everything possible to prevent the interests of the farmers from being obstructed.
Punjab has already passed four amendment bills in this matter. The meeting of the fifth session of the assembly started at 11 am on 31 October. The special assembly session began on Saturday. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shanti Dhariwal tabled all these amendment bills in the Assembly before postponing the assembly proceedings till Monday.
In the BAC meeting, Monday was also fixed for discussing these. The government argues that the farmers of the entire country are opposing the introduction of the Agricultural Marketing Act on behalf of the central government as it does not provide for the mandatory purchase of minimum support price (MSP). To save the farmers from being destroyed, these three amendment bills have been brought.
