It  took him more than three years to return the money to his friends. The film failed to earn  a good amount however Rajat Kapoor received the National Award for Best Feature Film for this film.

Rajat Kapoor remained in news for his controversial life. The actor was once accused of misbehaving by a woman. A female journalist once accused the actor and claimed that during an interview, Rajat Kapoor misbehaved with her and said that your voice is as  very sexy, are you sexy in appearance too?
