New Delhi: Congress leader Shashi Tharoor and senior journalist Rajdeep Sardesai moved the Supreme Court on the FIR lodged against them for tweeting several "misleading" tweets over the farmers' tractor rally on Republic Day. Journalists Mrinal Pande, Zafar Agha, Paresh Nath, and Anant Nath had moved the apex court on Tuesday evening against these FIRs.

Delhi Police had registered an FIR against Tharoor, Sardesai, and others on January 30. Earlier, Noida Police had registered a case of sedition on Tharoor and six journalists with violence and other charges during the farmers' tractor parade in Delhi. The Madhya Pradesh Police has also filed an FIR against Tharoor and six journalists for tweeting "misleading" on the violence during the "tractor parade" of farmers in Delhi.

On January 26, thousands of farmers took out a 'tractor parade' in favor of the demand for withdrawal of three new agricultural laws brought by the central government, but soon chaos spread in the streets of Delhi. At several places, the protesters broke the police barricade and also clashed with the police.
