The much-anticipated release date for Silambarasan's Maanaadu has been revealed. The actor turned to social media to publish a poster announcing the film's release date. Maanaadu will be released in theatres on November 4, 2021, to clash in Diwali.
Silambarasan's also known as STR and Simbu, took to social media to confirm the big news as he wrote, "#MaanaaduDeepavali #SilambarasanTR #Maanaadu." Along with the tweet, he shared an intriguing poster that shows a rocket firework ready to take off, from a green bottle that also has a political logo plastered on it. Simbu"s Maanaadu and Superstar Rajinikanth's Annaatthe will release on the same date, a massive clash and festival at the box office for fans.

Simbu's Maanaadu is a pan-Indian film that was released in Telugu and other languages with the title Rewind. Rewind is directed by Venkat Prabhu, and Simbu plays Abdul Khaaliq in the film. Simbu collaborates with Venkat for the second time, following the 2010 film Goa, in which the actor had a cameo part. Kalyani Priyadarshan plays the female protagonist in Rewind, which also features SJ Suryah, Bharathiraja, Manoj Bharathiraja, SA Chandrasekhar, and Premgi Amaren. Yuvan Shankar Raja's music is included in Rewind.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Maanaadu, which was set to hit theatres in February 2020, was frequently postponed. Now, the film is all set to break at the box office for Diwali and fans are already on Twitter.Â
