New Delhi: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and top commanders of the Indian Navy On Monday, a comprehensive review of India's maritime security challenges was held at a key conference on the indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant. It is being seen as a symbol of India's priority in the maritime domain amid China's growing presence in the Indian Ocean region.

 Reports say that a senior Navy official has said that the conference also had its own importance. And relevance in view of the current geostrategic situation in the region. On Monday, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh addressed naval commanders on board an indigenous aircraft carrier as part of the first phase of the conference. The conference also served as a platform for naval commanders to discuss key security issues at the military-strategic level and as an institutional platform to interact with senior government officials.

The Indian Navy has said that the first phase of the commanders' conference this year was held at sea. Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Army Chief General Manoj Pandey, and Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari also attended the conference.

This is the innovation of the conference. Also, for the first time, this conference has been held on India's first indigenous aircraft carrier, the INS Vikrant.
