Ghaziabad: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh officially inaugurated the expansive drone exhibition titled "Bharat Drone Shakti 2023" at the Hindon airbase. This remarkable event stands as a collaborative endeavor between the Indian Air Force and the Drone Federation of India (DFI).
During the inauguration ceremony, the Defense Minister ceremoniously unveiled the grandiose drone exhibition, bearing witness to a multitude of captivating aerial drone demonstrations. Meanwhile, Rajnath Singh embarked on a tour of the exhibition area, where he visited numerous stalls showcasing cutting-edge drone technology. According to a spokesperson from the Drone Federation of India, an impressive array of approximately 75 drones are on static display, with over 50 poised for breathtaking aerial displays throughout the event, as reported by PTI.
In a significant development, the Defense Minister formally integrated the C-295 transport aircraft into the Indian Air Force, in the distinguished presence of top-ranking military officials, including IAF chief Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari.
Recognizing the immense potential within the realm of indigenous drone technology, the Indian Air Force has partnered with the Drone Federation of India to co-host the prestigious Bharat Drone Shakti 2023 event. Drone technology, as highlighted in a press release, has undergone rapid transformation, impacting both civil and defense sectors by augmenting efficiency, mitigating risk, and enhancing overall capabilities.
The Indian Air Force boasts a wealth of experience in deploying Remotely Piloted Aircraft for Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance missions. In a bid to harness the burgeoning drone technology sector within India, the IAF introduced the Meher Baba Swarm Drone competition, underscoring its confidence in the nation's drone capabilities.
With the unveiling of Bharat Drone Shakti 2023, the Indian Air Force stands poised to build upon its existing expertise and further unlock the immense potential of drone technology.
These captivating demonstrations will encompass a wide spectrum of drone applications, ranging from survey drones, agricultural drones, fire suppression drones, tactical surveillance drones, heavy-lift logistics drones, loitering munition systems, and drone swarms to cutting-edge counter-drone solutions, as outlined in the press release.
