Lucknow: Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh expressed his confidence in the National Democratic Alliance's (NDA) victory in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh, stating, "UP se, 80 out of 80." He made these remarks while speaking to reporters after inspecting the Lucknow Ring Road from the Sultan Road Side.

During the interaction, he announced that the Lucknow Ring Road would be completed by February 28 and added that its inauguration, covering 104 kilometers, would take place in the first week of March. Singh highlighted the significance of this project in easing traffic congestion in Lucknow, emphasizing that it has been a long-standing dream project.

Detailing the features of the Lucknow Ring Road, Singh mentioned that it is an 8-lane road and noted the completion of 13 flyovers, with plans underway for the construction of 10 more approved flyovers.

Regarding developmental activities, Singh stressed the importance of delinking them from elections. He emphasized that it is the duty of every representative to address the issues of their area and fulfill their responsibilities consistently. Singh underscored his efforts in this regard, stating that he has endeavored to do everything within his capacity as a representative.

However, while the BJP and Rajnath Singh exude confidence, the opposition INDIA bloc faces challenges. The Congress and the Samajwadi Party have yet to finalize an alliance in the state, with disagreements over two contested seats. Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav reiterated that he would only join Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra once an agreement on seat sharing is reached.
