Lucknow: Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait has made a big statement amid the sixth phase of polling in the Uttar Pradesh elections. He has expressed apprehension of disturbance in the counting of votes after the elections. Tikait has appealed to the farmers and the people of Uttar Pradesh to take a tractor a day before the counting of votes and reach near the counting centres and set up camps. Tikait claimed on Wednesday that irregularities could take place at the counting centres.

The counting of votes for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections is going to take place on March 10. On this, Tikait, while talking to the presspersons in Baraut in Baghpat, said, "What was done in the Zila panchayat elections cannot be ignored. Reach the counting centres a day before the counting of votes begins and camp with tractors at the counting points. Tikait asked people to arrive with the bed a day in advance as they would not be allowed to go there on March 10.''

During the district panchayat elections held in the state last year, the opposition parties had alleged large scale irregularities. Rakesh Tikait, who has been the main face of the farmers' agitation against the three central farm laws for more than a year, has been appealing to vote against the BJP and the Yogi government in this election. He has extended his undeclared support to the SP alliance.
