Kolkata: Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo and Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has now started preparing to focus on politics outside Bengal after registering a victory in the West Bengal assembly elections. In the same episode, CM Mamata Banerjee has entrusted her nephew and MP Abhishek Banerjee with the new responsibility of TMC general secretary so that Abhishek focuses on the party's operations and Mamata Banerjee can focus on politics outside Bengal.
On the other hand, it is believed that Mamata Banerjee will step into the politics outside Bengal by putting forward the Kisan movement. After campaigning against the BJP in the Bengal elections, Bharatiya Kisan Union (Bhakiu) leader Rakesh Tikait is now scheduled to meet CM Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata on June 9. During his meeting with Mamata, Tikait will hold talks on enhancing the existing farmers' movement against the Centre's agricultural laws.
Sources said 'Rakesh Tikait will meet CM Mamata Banerjee on June 9. He will congratulate him on his landslide election victory. In addition, there will be talks on the farmers' movement between the two. Let us tell you that Tikait had visited Bengal even before the elections and campaigned in favour of TMC. Mamata Banerjee has been very vocal against agricultural laws and had also expressed support for the farmers' movement.
