New Delhi: Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait has once again placed his demands before the government. They have also warned that they are ready to agitate again if needed. Recently he has informed President Ram Nath Kovind about his demands. Tikait had emerged as a big farmer leader during the agitation that ended last year. The government had announced the withdrawal of the three farm laws in November 2021.
In Mohali on Friday, Tikait addressed about 50 farmer organisations and social organisations. He said the farmers' struggle is not over and if the central government feels that the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) has split, they are wrong. They have indicated that they are ready to agitate again. The farmers have demanded the withdrawal of the decision to end the permanent representation of members of Punjab and Haryana in the BBMB.
It also demanded action against those who distorted Sikh history in the syllabus books of the Punjab School Education Board, action against Union Minister Ajay Mishra in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case and punishment for Ashish Mishra and his aides.
