As India came together to celebrate Raksha Bandhan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu shared heartfelt messages with the nation, emphasizing the significance of the sibling bond and calling for the protection and respect of women.

Prime Minister Modi took to social media platform X to extend his warm wishes on this joyous festival. He expressed hope that Raksha Bandhan would bring happiness, prosperity, and good fortune to all. "Best wishes to all countrymen on the occasion of Rakshabandhan, a festival symbolizing the immense love between brother and sister. May this holy festival bring new sweetness in your relationships and bring happiness, prosperity, and good fortune to your lives," Modi wrote.

President Droupadi Murmu also extended her Raksha Bandhan greetings through the official President's account on X. In her message, she highlighted the values of love and trust that the festival fosters between siblings. "On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, I extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all the countrymen. This festival, based on the feeling of love and mutual trust between brothers and sisters, instills affection and respect towards all sisters and daughters," she stated.

President Murmu also used the opportunity to address an important issue, urging everyone to make a commitment to ensure the safety and respect of women in society. "I would like that on this festival day, all countrymen take a pledge to ensure the safety and respect of women in our society," she added in her post.

Raksha Bandhan, a festival rooted in love and protection, serves as a reminder of the strong bond between brothers and sisters. Both the Prime Minister and the President emphasized the need to uphold these values while also focusing on the broader social responsibility of protecting women.
