At a time when the second wave of COVID-19 is wreaking havoc across the state if there is a visible help provider to the people in distress it is Raksha Ramaiah and his team from the Karnataka youth Congress who are lending an help hand to the people to fight Covid-19. 

Stepping in on ground and personally answering SOS calls and messages on social media, Raksha and his team are in forefront helping the people struggling to get beds, oxygen or ambulance amidst dearth of medical resources. 

He and his team of army from over 22+ districts in the state as emerged as a saviour to many in these testing times and are often tagged on social media seeking help. 

Raksha Ramaiah steps into IYC president Srinivas's shoe who has become a national celebrity for helping people in distress. 

From swiftly responding to SOS messages from across the state and Bengaluru on social media to  arranging for beds, oxygen, medicines and whatnot, Raksha and his team of army from are winning hearts and praises from all nooks and corners.

He and his team plunged into action as soon as he realised that the people were scrambling for resources to save the lives of their parents, family members, friends infected by the corona virus. 

He has assumed significance in the eyes of many citizens for his help in the midst of the raging pandemic for helping people in need of emergency medicines, oxygen, and ambulance to bed, and coordinate aid for people on war footing.

From donating groceries to prepare free foods packets to the needy, migrants and working on ground, Raksha has emerged as a saviour helping COVID patients in receiving proper care, giving them a new lease of life.

Having a ground team of about 2,000 people across the state from the  youth Congress under leadership of BV Srinivas, the team has sent over 22k home isolation kits and oxygen to hundreds of homes in the state.

He lashes out at the BJP government for its failure in handling the Covid situation in the state and says that the pandemic has left no soul unaffected. "The government has failed miserably to address the issues of people amidst the pandemic situation. Thousand of people are making desperate attempts to get bed and other medical resources, but government is not responding to the grievances of people and has turned a blind eye. We are trying to do our best. This is not the time do politics our primary focus is on humanitarian work amidst this darkest time," said Raksha Ramaiah.
