Due to having no children of her own, her grandmother adopted her. Meanwhile, Ramanand Sagar's mother passed away and his father remarried. In the midst of so much turmoil in personal life, Ramanand had to face a lot of difficulty regarding studies.

He did not have money, so studies were being affected. So he started working as a peon. Apart from the peon, Ramanand Sagar also worked as a truck cleaner to sell soaps and goldsmiths. He does all these things during the day and studies at night. He started his career as a clapper boy in 1932. He had only one job. Playing Clap before the scene begins. After the partition of India, Ramanand Sagar moved to Mumbai. Here he worked as an assistant stage manager in Prithviraj Kapoor's Prithvi Theaters. He wrote the story and screenplay of Raj Kapoor's film 'Barsaat'. After this, he laid the foundation of his TV production company. Ramanand Sagar made several hit films under Sagar Films Private Limited.
