Ranchi: Ramesh Bais has been made the new Governor of Jharkhand. He will replace the present Governor Draupadi Murmu. Ramesh Bais is currently holding the post of Governor of Tripura. Ramesh Bais, a native of Chhattisgarh, has been a Lok Sabha member from Raipur. He had set a record of becoming an MP from Chhattisgarh seven times in a time. Born on August 2, 1947, Bais was also a Minister in the Union Cabinet. He was appointed governor of Tripura in July 2019.
Ramesh Bais has served as minister of state for environment and forests in Atal Bihari Vajpayee's government. Ramesh has been appointed as the 10th Governor of Jharkhand. Draupadi Murmu, who was appointed governor of Jharkhand on May 18, 2015, is also from Chhattisgarh. Draupadi Murmu has the distinction of becoming the first woman Governor of Jharkhand. Draupadi Murmu has been MLA from Rairangpur in the Odisha assembly. He has also served as a Minister in the State Cabinet.
