Former Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja says that left-handed batsman Fawad Alam, who has been waiting for a second chance for the last more than a decade in the upcoming Test series against England in the BioSecure Environment. Ramiz said 34-year-old Alam has been waiting for a second chance in Test cricket for a long time. Ramiz Raja, during his YouTube session, said, "I believe that he (Alam) deserves the opportunity given the way he has consistently performed in domestic cricket because now his age is increasing. I think Fawad Alam should be given a chance in the team because he has been waiting for a long time."

He further said, "If it continues to drag and wait, then the effect of age will start to appear on it because your reflexes are getting slower. He should definitely be given a chance in the Test series." The three-Test series between Pakistan and England is scheduled to be released in Manchester from 5 August. Alam has played only three Test matches for Pakistan, in which he has scored 250 runs at an average of 41.66. He played his last Test match against New Zealand in 2009 in Dunedin. He is expected to get a chance due to the withdrawal of middle-order batsman Harris Sohail for personal reasons.

Alam, who scored a century against Sri Lanka in July 2009 on his Test debut, has also played 38 ODIs and 24 T20 Internationals between 2010 and 2015. With whom Ramiz has said that Pakistan has kept three openers in the playing eleven and sent Imam-ul-Haq to the third position. He said, 'They can send the Imam as an additional opener because in the circumstances of Covid-19 bowlers will not be able to use saliva to shine the ball, it is necessary to end the brightness of the new ball without losing the wicket.  So I think there will be an additional opener in the team."
