New Delhi: Biopics of several former players of the Indian cricket team have been made and different actors have been seen bringing their character to life on the silver screen. After Sachin Tendulkar, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Mohammad Azharuddin, Sourav Ganguly is the next Indian captain whose life will be shown on the big screen.

The former cricketer and the current Chairman of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has said yes to the biopic. According to reports, it is going to be a big budget film, which could cost Rs 200 to Rs 250 crore to produce. Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor is believed to be playing the lead role in Sourav Ganguly's biopic. In an interview, Sourav Ganguly confirmed the news. Sourav said, "Yes, I have given approval for the biopic. It will be in the Hindi, but, it is not possible to disclose the name of the Director now. It will take some more time for everything to be decided."

According to reports, the script of the film is being written. Production house Sourav has met Ganguly more than once. Sources claim that the production house has also decided on the actor who will play Sourav Ganguly on screen. Reports claim that Ranbir Kapoor is the top contender for the role. Two more actors are also being considered.
