Ranveer Singh recently revealed that he was told to keep quiet during the death threat to Deepika Padukone amidst the Padmavati protest but was burning with rage over the issue. They are rumoured to be in a relationship.

Ranveer Singh spoke to India Today in an interview. He said “I was filled with rage. No doubt about that. I had a very strong urge to act out, to speak out, but I was given strict instructions not to and I had to respect that. Ranveer also cited the reason and told that the director and the producers were on the forefront of the fight for Padmavati. He did not want to complicate the things further and decided to stay silent on the issue.

In November 2017, when the controversy on Padmavati rose, Karni Sena member Mahipal had openly threatened Deepika Padukone to do with her what Lakshmana did to Surpankha in the Ramayana for violating rules and culture of India.

However, putting the past behind the actor expressed his happiness over the subsequent successful release of his film which was celebrated in India and across the world. He termed it as a win for the film and for Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
